Meet Our Co-Founders

Healing & Wellness: Empowering Migrant Minds is a non-profit 501(c)(3) founded in 2023. Our mission is to address the mental health struggles faced by migrant populations as they navigate the process of assimilating to their new surroundings. Our program is committed to delivering evidence-based practices and culturally responsive treatment and care, with a focus on preserving dignity and promoting holistic well-being. Through our efforts, we aim to positively impact the population's journeys to success while actively working to eradicate stigmas surrounding mental health and mental health treatment. Our goal is to empower and support migrants in achieving optimal mental health, fostering resilience, and promoting their overall integration and thriving in their new communities.

Tracey Taldon is a first generation Haitian-American, Haitian-Creole speaking, independent clinical social worker licensed in Massachusetts. She received her Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice from Worcester State University and Masters in Clinical Social Work from Simmons School of Social Work.

She is the Owner/Founder of Wellness for Our Future, an outpatient mental health group practice serving all communities in Massachusetts, with special interest in BIPOC communities, descendants of the Caribbean and African population and youth population. â€‹

Tracey began working with our migrant population to address trauma symptoms that are the barriers to gaining safety, stability and achieving their goals of assimilation to their new surroundings. With her personal experiences and professional expertise, she hopes to lead the shift in how we continue to serve communities of color, particularly our migrant populations. This is how Healing & Wellness: Empowering Migrant Minds was co-founded.

Tamara Leroy-London is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts. She received her bachelors degree in psychology from Regis College, and received her masters degree in social work from Simmons University. Tamara enjoys working with adolescents and adults and specializes in matters related to depression and anxiety through individual and group therapy. She is passionate about supporting underserved, urban communities and brings a cultural competent lens to the work she does as she is a first generation Haitian-American, and is fluent in Haitian Creole. She has experience in community mental health settings, and also owns a small virtual group practice, Healing with Trust Therapy, LLC. Although Tamara has always worked with Haitian clients, she very intentionally began supporting the migrant populations in 2023, leading up to co-founding the nonprofit, Health & Wellness: Empowering Migrant Minds, to further meet the current needs of the Haitian migrant community.
